What is it?
A mole is a common benign skin growth composed of pigment cells called melanocytes moles. They occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. Moles can be small, large, flat, raised, and often brown or black in colour. They can appear on any part of the body. Some moles can be cosmetically bothersome.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
At Revita Skin Clinic, we use electrocauterization to remove moles. Electrocautery uses electrical currents to burn the mole off. Scarring is very minimal as the electric currents only reach the outer most layers of the skin. The area treated will look like a cut that will scab within a week. If a touch-up session is required, that is done 12 weeks from the initial removal.
