Lipolysis Body Fat Reduction

If you have stubborn fat that won’t respond to your diet and exercise regimen – and you’re close to your ideal weight – you may be a good candidate for lipolysis treatments. Lipolysis is a body contouring, fat spot removal procedure. If you are close to your ideal body weight (within 10-15 lbs) but find that you still have fat in specific areas this may be the procedure for you. Many people use this treatment to get rid of excess fat on their chin, chest, back, knees, love handles, tummy, or ankles.
Lipolysis is a fatty acid that is extracted from the soya plant, phosphatidylcholine (lecithin) and is injected directly into the fat deposits on the body. This is a natural product that is actually produced by your own body in areas such as the lungs, cells, and liver. When injected into the desired area, it literally melts away the fat by destroying fat cell membranes and reducing the thickness of fat deposits in a series of a few sessions.
DOES IT HURT?
To ensure maximum comfort and minimal pain, a numbing cream is first applied directly to the site of injection. Some patients may experience a slight prick at the site of injection, but generally, the procedure itself is tolerable.
IS THERE DOWNTIME?
Post-injection, there may be initial bruising, and a burning and itching sensation, but that will dissipate within a couple of hours. Patients may take tylenol to ease their discomfort.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The amount of treatment necessary depends on the area of the body and the thickness of fat deposits present. However, generally a series of 2-4 treatments are required around 8 weeks apart to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Many of our patients see a noticeable difference after the very first session. Patients control the amount of change they want to see in their body: you yourself can tell us which fat needs to go and which you wish to keep.
