What is it?

Skin Tags are benign, non-cancerous skin growths. They consist of a core of fibers and ducts, nerve cells, fat cells and a covering or epidermis. They are flesh coloured or slightly brown, and can appear anywhere on the body, especially where skin rubs against other skin or clothing.

They may appear on: eyelids, armpits, under the breast, groin, upper chest and neck.

Skin tags happen when clusters of collagen and blood vessels become trapped inside thicker pieces of skin. Often skin tags go unnoticed and in some cases they rub off painlessly. However, larger, hanging skin tags can be uncomfortable, painful, and aesthetically bothersome.

At Revita Skin Clinic, we use Electrocautery to remove skin tags. The treatment is quick and painless. The specialist will numb the area prior to removal with topical anesthetics then cauterize the skin tag(s). There is no down time and chances of scaring are extremely minimal.

We recommend you come in for a complimentary consultation to let one of our expert’s assess your skin tags.
