WHAT IS IT?

Alopecia refers to hair loss from any part of the body for any reason. There are several types, ranging from thinning hair to complete baldness. Alopecia is broadly classified into two categories. In non-scarring alopecia, the hair follicles are still alive and hair can be grown. In scarring alopecia, the hair follicles are destroyed and will not regrow hair. Androgenic alopecia, also known as "male pattern baldness" and “female pattern baldness,” can strike people of all ages. It's genetic, so having a family history can predict if you might inherit it. In both men and women, it's linked to an excess of male hormones (androgens) around the hair follicles, which can block hair growth. Factors that contribute to the hair loss: heredity, medications, chemicals, diseases, stress and hormonal disturbances and deficiency of nutrients. Thinning hair is a source of embarrassment for many adults, both men and women alike. At Revita Skin Clinic we pride ourselves in going above and beyond in our commitment to producing effective natural results.

WHAT IS IT

TextPlatelet Rich Plasma Treatment (also known as PRP), is the regeneration of skin cells using one’s own blood to reduce the appearance of aging and wrinkles. It is a new approach appealing to patients seeking a more natural method for facial rejuvenation that is safe and tolerable.

WHY IT WORKS

Platelets are blood cells that initiate clotting when a blood vessel has been damaged preventing further blood loss. It has now been found that platelets trigger the repair process of the vessel by secreting cell signalling and growth factors. By injecting platelets into the skin we are taking advantage of these properties and therefore regenerating skin cells which help reduce the appearance of aging.

ADVANTAGES OF PRP THERAPY

  • Tissue regeneration and rejuvenation
  • Acne scars and blemishes
Safe: non-allergenic and free from concerns over transmissible diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B & C
Faster healing: For example, no fibrosis formation compared to some long term synthetic fillers

PRP CAN BE USED FOR
